Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities will be central to this role:

• Lead the platform and system work which includes, architecture, NFS and CIFS filesystem changes, Kernel debug, RPMS, Porting to later RedHat Linux, Importing Open Source and integration into the product as needed.
• Resolve customer issues extremely quickly.
• Enhance and support at least 3 products.
• Will lead, mentor and closely work with other Software/QA Engineers.
• Define Functional spec from requirements, Architecture, Design document, Test Plan.
• Pro-actively identify and development enhancements.
• Lead high visibility, cross-group, time critical projects.
• Hands-on development of the product.

Required Skills:

The following skills are essential for this role:

• BS + 10 years or MS + 8 years in computer science.
• Unix/Linux Kernel Development (3 – 5 years experience)
• File System Development (NFS/CIFS) (3 – 5 years experience)
• Kernel Generalist is a plus.
• Clustering knowledge and distributed systems is a plus.
• Have excellent Kernel debugging skills (3 – 5 years experience).
• Have significant experience in Windows/Unix/Linux OS Development, OS Platform development, Network Configuration, VMWare, Open Source Linux build/install/RPM.
• Must be knowledgeable in “C” programming, PERL, gdb, Wireshark/Ethereal, Samba, Socket Programming, NFS and CIFS protocols.
